Magazine: DREAM AWAY

Dream Away is meant to be a series were a new world, far away in future or parallel universe is rolled out in every issue. This particular fictituos magazine takes place in the year 2089 when the rich live on Mars and Earth is a colony and holiday destination for the new Martians. My work on the magazine was as a graphic designer and layouter.

The magazine had to seem as real as possible, which is why we made commercials and used a collage technique for the visuals instead of illustrations. It is meant to look like an ordinary magazine from Mars that the inhabitants would read, just like we read magazines today. The graphic style and fashion for the society on Mars is a combination of futuristic looks and the old romanticism from the 50's. It is partially inspired from the streamline design style used during that time in combination with our own imagination of how the future will look like style-wise.

The colours are mainly warm tones inspired by retro posters about outer space.

The magazine is made for the daydreamer in all of us for when we just want to float away in our imagination.
